How do I know what my gear is worth?
Our team can provide auction estimates prior to consignment. The simplest way is by email on receipt of images (for larger consignments an in person visit may be more appropriate).
How can I get my items to your premises?
If you cannot deliver your the items to our sale room we can recommend specialist carriers and help with collection. Any courier charges can, in some circumstances, be settled from the post sale funds by prior agreement.
What happens prior to the auction?
Prior to the auction you will receive via email the Pre-Sale Advice, which shows you the lot number, description, estimate. Any reserves must be agreed with us prior to the sale but are at the auctioneer's discretion. If there is no actual reserve the lower end of the estimate is used with 20% discretion.
What happens after the auction?
Following the auction you will receive via email Post-Sale Advice – this shows the hammer price achieved for each lot. If any lot fails to sell you will also receive a recommendation of a new estimate or advice to collect.
When will I get paid ?
After the sale you can view final hammer prices online for any lots you have consigned. A bank transfer will be sent out with a settlement statement within 28 working days of the sale (subject to Soundgas Auctions being paid for the lot) with any fees deducted in accordance with our terms and conditions.
How much does it cost to sell with Soundgas Auctions?
The standard fee is a commission rate of 15% of the hammer price with VAT payable on the commission only and there is a minimum commission of £10.
What if my item fails to sell?
The item will be offered again in our next auction, with no reserve (unless specified on booking); or if your item fails to sell in two consecutive auctions you will be asked to collect or we can ship to you at your cost; or for lower value items you may choose to donate the item to charity.
A £5.00 (Plus VAT) fee applies to each unsold lot at the end of the auction.
